Waxing
Waxing
Waxing is one of the most effective temporary hair removal for both small and large areas. Waxing works by removing the entire shaft of hair from below the skin’s surface. Because the entire hair shaft is removed, results can last up to 2 – 3 weeks before any regrown hair begins showing above the surface.
How is it applied?
Wax is applied either hard or soft and warm or cold depending on the area, then the wax is removed pulling the hair along with it.
How does it feel?
There is a momentary sting that fades quickly. Afterwards you may experience some skin irritation that will usually clear up quickly.
Waxing has several benefits over other hair removal methods including that it takes longer for the hair to grow back and when it does, it will grow back softer than before the waxing. It also helps with preventing ingrown hairs if that is something you experience.
Am I A Candidate?
If you have open sores or a wound, are on Accutane, blood thinners, antibiotics, or retinols you are not a candidate for waxing. If you have more questions in regards to this please do not hesitate to call.
Your hair needs to be a little longer than a grain of rice. Do not exfoliate beforehand and shower before you come in.
After Care Recommendations
After your waxing you should wear breathable clothing, do not take too hot of a shower, moisturize with a light unscented moisturizer. Repeat the waxing every 4 – 6 weeks to give the hair enough time to grow so the wax can attach to it again.
